In 2016, Dempsey was accepted onto the RUA RED Gallery Winter Open, an annual exhibition of artists throughout Ireland.

A panel of curators selected the work of 31 artists, from these artists; the panel have selected Dempsey as the winner of the RUA RED Winter Open Prize. This award takes the form of an upcoming solo show in Gallery 2. The show Opens December 2017 in the RUA RED Gallery and the exhibition will run until January 2018, dates TBC.
